Recovery Update #3
3 weeks into recovery and things are getting better!
Little by little things are improving. I don't need pain meds to get through the day. I sometimes do need them if I'm going to do anything a bit strenuous, though. Also, sleeping isn't quite comfortable yet in certain positions either but it's doable and improving.
The plan this week is to test out a swim and a run. I'll keep getting in my rides on the trainer (2-3 per week).
I'm anxious to get going on training but also aware I need to take it slow initially. My fitness depleted quite a bit which is a bit of a downer. So I will need to work hard and fast but be cautious and primarily protect against injury.
One thing I've done is I used some extra FSA money to pick up a pair of Normatec recovery boots to help with recovery and injury prevention. I'm very excited about this one. I'm hoping it will help with shin splints primarily but also my hamstrings.
Next week I hope to have a full zone 2 week. We'll take it one day at a time. I can't do much to change where I'm at. It is what it is. I can only move forward.
