Week 2 - 70.3 Indian Wells Training Complete
Two strong first two weeks in the books.
Dropping in to say that things are going well. I completed 2 weeks of training and things are feeling good.
As hard as I try not to do the "what if" song and dance about missing a month due to the broken rib it still creeps into my mind. The way I'm combating thoughts like that is the fact that I'm right where I was around this time when training for Coeur d'Alene. I just checked and it's true. But additionally, all the work I did is still a really nice to base for what I'm trying to do in December.
Swim is still behind but that's ok. I had a great speed session on the bike last week. I really want to ensure my fast sessions are fast. That's where a lot of the growth and power will come run. On the run side I'm trying to monitor my shin splint issue. Recovery will be key with that. I'm trying to get the compression legs on as soon as possible after a run but it's not always doable.
Heading into this third week of the first block I want to continue to build on the good work I've been doing. One of the challenges is work and being a dad. Being a dad is nonnegotiable and work is something I can be flexible will but gotta do. So that means a lot of early morning sessions which isn't always fun.
